Final Paws to Read Events – July 22 thru August 1

  • Turtle Hurdle
  • Rush City Public Library 
  • Tuesday, July 22 – 3:30-4:30 pm

           Join the naturalist from St. Croix State Park and
           learn about the challenging lives of our local turtles
           and make a turtle craft to take home.  Geared for ages
           3-12 and sponsored by the MN DNR.

  • Smokey the Bear to Visit Preschool Storytime

  • North Branch Area Library
  • Wednesday, July 23 – 10:30 am

          Kids ages 3-5 are invited to join us for a special storytime.
          In celebration of Smokey the Bear’s 70th birthday he will
          be stopping by the library.  Learn the true story about Smokey
          and bring your cameras so you can take a picture with him.

 Children ages K-6 are welcome to join us for
 this special program presented by the MN DNR.

          Local magician, Collin Staup, will dazzle audience members
          with a magic show after our storytime presenter reads a
          few books about magic.  Come join the fun!

  • Experiment with Nature
  • Princeton Area Library 
  • Thursday, July 24 – 1:00 pm 
          Use your sense of wonder to explore nature!
          Read a story, ask questions and learn how to be
          a naturalist through hands-on activities.  For ages
          3-12.

  • Frog Guy
  • Pine City Public Library 
  • Wednesday, July 30 – 11:15 am
          Join us for an amphibian interactive activity
          with Frog Guy.  For kids K-6.

  • Cruising Critters
  • Hinckley Public Library 
  • Wednesday, July 30 – 2:00 pm
          Use your detective skills to decode the
          messages left by wildlife.  Presented by
          a St. Croix State Park naturalist.

          Come to a Smokey Bear themed preschool storytime
          and hang out for a photo or two with Smokey!

  • Aitkin Public Library 
  • Friday, August 1 – 2:00-4:30 pm
          Join us for our annual summer lawn party!
          There’ll be delicious ice cream floats.  For all ages!
