Policy Changes to Improve Patron Experience

At the February 12, 2018 East Central Regional Library Board meeting, the Board of Directors approved a new Borrowing and Access Policy.  The Borrowing and Access Policy is in effect and it replaces the previous Materials Borrowing Policy and Registration Policy.

In particular, there are two significant changes to previous policy, intended to improve the patron experience.  Everything else should be just rewriting or formalizing current practice.

  • An East Central Regional Library card now allows you to have up to 25 active hold requests at one time. Previously, the limit was 15 active hold requests.
  • Accounts with more than $10.00 in fees will be considered delinquent and will have their privileges suspended. Previously, library privileges were suspended at $5.00.

The approved Borrowing & Access Policy may be viewed in its entirety on the Policies and Procedures page.
