Meet President Theodore Roosevelt … kind of

Travel back in time with Minnesotan Adam Lindquist whose award-winning impersonation of President Theodore Roosevelt entertains, educates and inspires thousands of people around the nation each year. East Central Regional Library presents Adam Lindquist as Theodore Roosevelt at 6 p.m. Monday, April 23 at the Aitkin Public Library. A second presentation has been booked for 1 p.m. Friday, April 27 at the Sandstone Public Library.

Lindquist, of Lonsdale, Minnesota, is a living history speaker and educator who is nationally known for his work in portraying the 26th president of the United States. His uncanny resemblance and ability to bring Roosevelt to life earned him national reenactment titles in 2011, 2012 and 2013. In fact, he is the only person to ever receive a perfect score in the competition’s 40-year history.

“Winning contests is not my goal in portraying Roosevelt,” Lindquist says. “My real joy comes from helping my audience suspend belief, taking them back to a time in our country’s history where anything was possible with hard work and determination.”

In addition to his work in conservation initiatives and leadership programs for the corporate world, Lindquist especially enjoys working with school children. Each year he educates more than 20,000 students on Theodore Roosevelt and topics such as the importance of building character and developing determination.

This project was funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
