American Revolution program brings history to life

East Central Regional Library is pleased to present Birth of Our Nation: The American Revolution, a special presentation by Arn Kind at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 19 at the Milaca Community Library.

Kind, a teacher of 40 years, will appear in period attire, portraying the people who participated in the events that gave birth to our nation. His use of drama, role-playing, living history experiences and displays give audiences an understanding of this turbulent time and make history come alive.

Plus, volunteers from the audience will have the opportunity of taking on the role of soldiers in the Continental Army and learn some of the rudiments of Von Steuben’s Drill Manual while handling wooden replicas of Revolutionary War muskets.

Kind and East Central Regional Library have received great feedback on this program, which was presented at branches in Cambridge and North Branch last month.

This project was funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
