Swedish musician, storyteller presents ‘Three Billy Goats Gruff’

The magical Nordic fairy tale Three Billy Goats Gruff gets a new twist in a music and storytelling presentation by Sweden’s Anna Rynefors and her Scandinavian instruments. Come to the library and watch as this tale awakens the joy of reading in every child!

East Central Regional Library is excited to present Rynefors and her musical rendition of Three Billy Goats Gruff at libraries around the area. While the program is geared toward families and children ages 2-5, everyone is welcome! Here is the schedule:

Thursday, Sept. 20

10:30 a.m.—Sandstone Public Library

3:30 p.m.—Rush City Public Library

Monday, Oct. 1

10:30 a.m. — Cambridge Public Library

2 p.m. — Princeton Area Library

Tuesday, Oct. 2

10:30 a.m. — Aitkin Public Library

2 p.m. — Pine City Public Library

Wednesday, Oct. 3

10:30 a.m. — Chisago Lakes Area Library/Chisago City

For many, the fairy tale is magical because it’s universal and can be told anywhere; all cultures include goats as well as trolls, laughter and music, too. In this presentation, count along, size things up and meet many animals that are sung about. Enjoy the music as brought to life by a Swedish bagpipe in the form of a cuddly toy.

This project was funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
