Each branch of East Central Regional Library now has birding and nature Adventure Backpacks available for check out! This Adventure Backpack project was made possible in part by funding from the Minnesota Department of Education through a Library Services and Technology Act (LS-00-21-0-24-21) grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
Within the blue birding backpack adventurers will find adult and children’s sized binoculars, a Minnesota Field Guide, a Field Guide to Birds of North America, and a ‘Match a Pair of Birds’ memory game. Sling this bag over your shoulder, grab a pair of binoculars, and see if you can identify the friendly birds on your next nature walk!

The orange nature backpack includes nature activity books, pocket naturalist guides on pond life, animal tracks, Minnesota wildlife, trees & wildflowers, Minnesota birds, and Minnesota butterflies & pollinators, an insect net, magnifying glass, insect holder, and plastic tweezers. You’ll have everything you need to explore the nature around you, whether that in your own backyard or at a state park!
