Beat the heat with blues, macramé and wire wrapping nature finds

Legacy events will continue to bring quality talent and hands-on activities to our communities next week. Here’s a quick run down of what’s going up:
Blues Music with Mike Munson
Monday, July 22, 6-7 pm – Aitkin
Spend an evening with Minnesota blues musician Mike Munson. From sad and somber slow tunes to swampy, caterwauling stompers, Munson’s music is a master class in creative blues composition and performance. This program is recommended for all ages. No registration necessary.
 
Intro to Macramé
Tuesday, July 23, 2-3:30 pm – McGregor
Macramé is back! Learn the basic knots of macramé and create something all your own at this workshop, recommended for ages 12 and up. Registration is required on the events calendar at ecrlib.org or check with library staff at the front desk.
 
Fairy House Workshop
Wednesday, July 24, 2-3:30 pm – Mille Lacs Lake/Isle
Create a petite, little home for your garden or home where fairies will want to visit. Led by teaching artist Jen Anfinson, participants will use an array of nature-inspired objects to construct a fairy house of miniature scale. Let your imagination take hold! Recommended for ages 15 and up. Registration is required on the events calendar at ecrlib.org.
 
Wire Wrapping for Nature Finds
Thursday, July 25, 3-4:30 pm – Chisago Lakes
Calling all rock hounds! Learn how to wire wrap your favorite nature finds like agates, sea glass, rocks, shells and driftwood. Bring your treasures, or materials will be available at class. We also will go over other techniques to turn your finds into pieces of jewelry. Geared toward ages 15 and up. Registration required on the events calendar at ecrlib.org.
