Changes

The final week of AudiobookSYNC 2017 features a pair of powerful novels about do-over lives.
Daniel José Older’s debut novel is Shadowshaper, a magic-infused story of a teen muralist’s Brooklyn neighborhood where sorcery, Puerto Rican history, and gentrification converge. The sequel, Shadowhouse Fall, is due to be released in September.

Paired with this is Franz Kafka’s classic Metamorphosis, a story about a traveling salesman who awakens in his parents’ house to discover that he has become a beetle, only to be shunned by his family.
