East Central Regional Library is participating in Lights On Afterschool, a nationwide effort that celebrates after-school programs and their important role in the lives of children, families and communities. Check out what these locations have planned for school age kids on Thursday, Oct. 25:
- Gumdrop engineering at Mora Public Library, 6-7 pm: Unleash your inner engineer and create amazing structures with gumdrops. (320-679-2642)
- Face painting and more at Rush City Public Library, 3-5 pm: Enjoy face painting, courtesy of Lindsey Nicole Artistry; give Karaoke a try; and make some fun crafts all while enjoying the ambiance and amenities of the local library. (320-358-3948)
In America today, 11.3 million children are alone and unsupervised after school. After school programs keep kids safe, help working families and inspire learning. Lights On Afterschool is a project of the Afterschool Alliance, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that all children have access to quality, affordable afterschool programs.
All year round, East Central Regional Library locations take pride in offering programs and events for kids after school as well as into the evening. We encourage you to visit our Events Calendar for all the fun and educational opportunities that await.
