North Branch Area Library Youth Poetry Contest

The North Branch Area Library invites youth poets from around the region to participate in the 10th annual Poetry Contest!

This contest is sponsored by the Friends of the North Branch Area Library.

To Participate:

Write a poem based on this year’s theme: Stuck at Home

Submit your entry via the web form below or in-person at the North Branch Area Library via the contest entry form.

All entries are due on Saturday, April 17th

Judging will begin April 19th.

Winners will be announced on May 1st via social media and email.

There will be no reading event this year.

Contest entries will be published in an eBook that will be published through MN Writes MN Reads and will be submitted into the Indie Author Project collection. The e-book will be available in early May.

Entries will be broken down into four age groups:

  • K-2nd Grade
  • 3-5th Grade
  • 6-8th Grade
  • 9-12th Grade

There will be one $25.00 Grand Prize for each of the four age groups. For each age group, we will be drawing winners for additional prizes in the form of cash.

After the judging has taken place, we will contact winners via email. Prizes will be sent to the ECRL location of choice for pickup.
