Storytime kits are theme-based and may be used to present a storytime program to children ages 3-5. They may be used by any Head Start teacher, preschool teacher, elementary school teacher or licensed daycare provider with a current ECRL card. Storytime kits may be checked out for one week.
Each kit includes:
- 3-ring binder with fingerplays, craft ideas, coloring pages and more
- 5 or more hardcover books on theme topic
Some kits may also include:
- Big book(s)
- Flannelboard stories
- Public performance video
- Literacy bags
- Fingerplay mitts, props, etc.
To reserve a storytime kit, a storytime kit request form must be filled out with the correct information. The completed form may be submitted to any local ECRL branch. The requested kit will be sent to the East Central Regional Library branch listed on the form for pick-up, and may be returned to any ECRL branch.
If the packet you requested is already being used, and you do NOT list substitute packets or the substitutes you listed are also not available, a substitute theme kit will be chosen for you. Please make sure you list more than one choice.
