Take a break from your computers and cell phones and discover the relaxation, focus and inspiration that comes with the zentangle® method of pattern drawing. East Central Regional Library presents zentangle® pattern drawing with Esther Piszczek, CZT, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 28 at the North Branch Area Library and again from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 5 at the Milaca Community Library. Participants will create this art form on a 3.5-inch by 3.5-inch paper tile with pen and ink and pencil shading. No previous drawing experience is necessary. Pre-registration is required.
Piszczek, who lives in Duluth, Minnesota, became a certified zentangle® teacher in August 2012. “Patterns have fascinated me since childhood,” she says. “Doodled designs filled the margins of notebooks from grade school through law school and followed me right into the courtroom… Zentangle gave me a method by which I was able to take my love of pattern and express it in an organized way. Simply put, it gave me permission to say: I AM an artist.”
