Give the Gift of Reading

Chisago County
Help make the holidays warmer for young Chisago County residents this year with the gift of a book.  All four East Central Regional library branches in Chisago County are participating including the Chisago lakes Area Library, the North Branch Area Library, the Rush City Public Library and the Wyoming Area Library.

  1. Simply select a tag from the tree at the library
  2. Purchase a new book for the child identified on the tag
  3. Return your unwrapped book with the tag to your library no later than Wednesday, December 14th!

All books will be given to the Chisago County Health and Human Services for distribution to young Chisago County residents.  Monetary donations are also accepted and will be used to purchase books for donation.

Ages and genders of those youths are put on the Give the Gift of Reading tree at the Cambridge Public Library.  Everyone is encouraged to pick a tag off the tree, select an age-appropriate book for the child or teen, and return it unwrapped to the Cambridge Public Library no later than 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15.
If you need help finding a book, library staff can assist you with picking a title. Or simply make a donation by giving cash or dropping off a check made out to ECRL at the Cambridge Public Library circulation desk. Library staff will use the money to choose a book for you.
Once all of the books are received, they are wrapped and given to Isanti Family Services in time to be delivered by Christmas. Your help will ensure each child or teen receives the precious gift of reading this Christmas. Let’s spread the Christmas spirit with books this holiday season!
