Induction Cooking Kits Now Available!

Induction Kids Now Available! In collaboration with the Sustainable Resource Center, ECRL now offers induction cooking kits for checkout!

East Central Regional Library is excited to announce the addition of Induction Cooking Kits to our Library of Things!

The Sustainable Resource Center (SRC) donated 15 of these kits as part of their Induction Cooking Kit program. ECRL is the 7th Minnesota library system to circulate these kits!

Each kit includes an induction cooktop, SRC canvas tote bag, stainless steel pot with a lid, stainless steel frying pan, magnet (to test if other cookware is induction compatible), a cooktop user’s manual, and informational brochure.

Here is a little bit of information about what makes induction cooking special from SRC’s website:

“Induction cooktops are powered by electromagnetic energy and interact only with compatible cookware.

An electromagnetic field is created causing the pan to heat up – but not the cooktop itself!

This technology emits no pollutants into your home and uses less electricity than a traditional electric stove due to the higher amount of heat transfer.

Because the cooktop does not generate heat, it also cools faster once the pot or pan is removed and poses less of a burn risk.”
