What is Craft & Hobby?

An online platform that provides ECRL card holders with access to in-depth online instructional videos and classes that span 22 different creative categories

The on-demand streaming videos allow you to learn a new hobby or improve your skills with classes taught by world renowned experts. They’ll walk you through each technique with step-by-step demonstrations, providing tips and tricks along the way.

What types of videos and classes will I find on Craft & Hobby?

There’s something for everyone! Get inspired…

Behind the Camera– outdoor photography, timelapse photography, cell phone photography, editing with Lightroom and Photoshop, color theory, composition, exposure, and more!

In the Kitchen– Cooking, baking, cookie decorating, and more!

With Wood- Beginner, intermediate, and advanced woodworking projects, fundamentals of woodworking tools, materials, and safety, glues, finishes, and more!

To Move Your Body- Strength training, low impact workouts, dance, yoga, and more!

To Create- Painting, drawing, sewing, crochet, knitting, quilting, embroidery, jewelry making, paper crafting, gardening, and more!

Q: How do I log in to Craft & Hobby?

A: Click the link in our eResources & Databases webpage and enter your full East Central Regional Library card number. If you are accessing Craft & Hobby from an ECRL Computer, there is no log in required.

Q: Is there a way to favorite or save classes?

A: Not at this time. Hopefully in the future.

Q: Do classes have subtitles?

A: Yes. You can turn them on by hovering over the video and choosing to turn on closed captions

Q: How do I find a video?

A: There are two options. You can click on the “Videos” link in the navigation bar (at the top of the page), and select a category to view video content by topic. Or, you can use the search bar at the top of the page for key word specific searches.

Q: How is ECRL paying for Craft & Hobby?

A: With funds from Minnesota’s Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund.
