Are you ready to Talk, Sing, Read, Write and Play your year away?  Join East Central Regional Library in changing lives as we prepare the next generation of readers.

East Central Regional Library will host an AmeriCorps-VISTA Literacy Leader through Literacy Minnesota who will work with ECRL staff on our early literacy and storytime programs.  This project, which focuses on improving training for library staff and volunteers, will assist the library in providing this high-quality learning experience for years to come.  Working with ECRL management, you will have the opportunity to enact real change, use your creativity, learn about libraries and community outreach and make connections.  The communities the library serves are small towns with rural populations.  Choosing this opportunity will allow you to develop leadership and project management skills, expertise in early literacy, some grant writing experience, and will make you smile daily as you see the difference the library makes in young lives.

Working with ECRL will provide you with the opportunity to work in our brand new facility with excellent technological resources.  We are seeking a motivated individual who works well in a team environment and has a passion for reading.  Experience with early literacy practices is a plus, but we will provide training for the right individual.

ECRL is seeking candidates who are at least 18, with some college classes, and skills in communications, education, public speaking, and community outreach.

Interested?  Apply through the AmeriCorps website: East Central Regional Library – Early Literacy (LitMN) or the Literacy Minnesota website: https://www.literacymn.org/literacyleaderpositions
