Current Openings

Branch Library Assistant

ECRL is currently accepting applications for a Branch Library Assistant at Aitkin County (substitute),   Milaca Community Library (16-19.5 hours/week), and Chisago Lakes Area Library (6-10 hours/week).

Aitkin County (substitute) $14.15/hour starting.  This position will cover both the Aitkin and McGregor branches. Application review will begin on April 3, 2023, and continue until filled.

Milaca Community Library (16-19.5 hours/week).  $14.15/hour starting.  Application review will begin on March 27, 2023, and continue until filled.

Chisago Lakes Area Library (6-10 hours/week).  $14.15/hour/starting.  Application review will begin on April 5, 2023, and continue until filled.

Branch Assistants are eligible to work at multiple locations. Application MUST state branches applicant would be willing to work at. A full list of locations and branch hours is available at Locations & Hours – ECRL (ecrlib.org)

The Branch Library Assistant is responsible for the clerical operations of the automated library circulation system. The assistant is also responsible for the operations of a branch library, under the direction of the Branch Librarian. Ability to work courteously and effectively with other employees and the public; ability to read, comprehend and orally communicate English; ability to be tactful and adept in dealing with a wide variety of people; ability to interpret library policies, resources, and services to others. Candidate must have good technology skills.

Branch Librarian II

ECRL is currently accepting applications for a full-time Branch Librarian II at the Cambridge Public Library. 

$21.11-$29.57 per hour DOE. 

PTO, paid holidays, employer-paid health insurance, health savings account, optional dental, vision, and life insurance available, PERA retirement fund.

Application review will begin on March 20, 2023, and continue until filled.

The Branch Librarian II is responsible for managing the operation of a medium-large branch library. Assists patrons by supplying information and materials. Ability to plan and organize workloads and schedules; ability to maintain records and prepare reports; ability to work courteously and effectively with other employees and the public; ability to read, comprehend, and orally communicate English; ability to be tactful and adept in dealing with a wide variety of people; ability to speak in public and interpret library policies, resources, and services to others.
