East Central Regional Library is excited to present a special visit featuring Minnesota author Candace Simar at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 22 at the Aitkin Public Library.
A writer and poet in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota, Simar’s novels include Shelterbelts, 2015, receiving awards from both the Midwest Book Awards and the WILLA Literary Awards in Historical Fiction, and her Abercrombie Trail Series earned the coveted Spur Award. Her latest book is Escape to Fort Abercrombie. She along with her sister wrote Farm Girls, 2013, which celebrates growing up on a dairy farm.
Simar has a passion for her Scandinavian heritage and a deep love of history. And she enjoys speaking to groups about her research and writing. She is a member of the Western Writers of America, Women Writing the West and the Catholic Writer’s Guild.
