About this library
Did you know?
The Princeton Area Library was the first branch library to open after East Central Regional Library was formed.
It opened in November of 1959, in the building occupied by the Princeton Dairy. According to a Princeton Union article, “Mr. Nyflot is taking out the dairy bar and putting in a partition separating the front part of the building from the rear, where the dairy operations will be continued.” In July of 1993, property on the Rum River was purchased on which a new facility would be built. A groundbreaking ceremony was held in October of 1994 and the new building opened on August 24, 1995.
