J.J. Austrian author visit, North Branch Library
East Central Regional Library-North Branch welcomes children’s author J.J. Austrian for a special visit and reading from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Monday, July 15. Austrian will read from his picture book, Worm Loves Worm. He also will talk about what it’s like to be an author, with time for questions and answers with the audience. All ages are welcome, and no registration is necessary.
Lalo’s Lunchbox Live!, Wyoming Library
This may sound cheesy, but this show’s too “Gouda” to pass up! Kids ages 3 and up are going to have a blast with Lalo’s Lunchbox Live!, a family-friendly sketch comedy act with sing-alongs and games, at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 16 at East Central Regional Library-Wyoming.
Lalo is a fun-loving shopkeeper with a magic lunchbox. From handling food erupting from his lunchbox to teaching social skills to magical household items, this zany show teaches about healthy foods and the importance of doing good things for others.
No registration is necessary for this 40-minute program. It takes the place of preschool storytime, which will resume the following week.

Henna Designs, Rush City Library
Learn how to create traditional Indian designs and use henna for body decoration during a Henna Designs program from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 16 at East Central Regional Library-Rush City.
Henna is a plant known for its reddish color, used to decorate the body for special occasions such as Indian weddings and celebrations. In impermanent art, creating art is more important than the art itself.
Henna Designs, with teaching artist Shakun Maheshwari, is recommended for teens (12 and up) and adults. Registration is required on the events calendar at ecrlib.org. Space is limited.
Note: Participants must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to create a design on themselves. Permission forms will be available at the library before and at the program.

Sock Animal Workshop, Hinckley Library
East Central Regional Library-Hinckley invites children to participate in a Sock Animal Workshop from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, July 17. Learn basic sewing techniques and create a stuffed animal out of socks!
Teaching artist Jen Anfinson will lead this multi-generational class, recommended for kids ages 4-13 working with a parent/adult. Registration is required on the events calendar at ecrlib.org. Space is limited!

These programs are funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
