Join award-winning, Minnesota author Laura Purdie Salas during children’s storytime at the Cambridge Public Library on Wednesday, Sept. 19, starting at 10:30 a.m.
Salas has written more than 125 books for kids, including “Meet My Family!,” “If You Were the Moon,” “Water Can Be…” and “BookSpeak!” Growing up in Florida, she now lives and writes in Minnesota. She loves to get kids excited about reading and writing.
Travel back in time with Minnesotan Adam Lindquist whose award-winning impersonation of President Theodore Roosevelt entertains, educates and inspires thousands of people around the nation each year.
East Central Regional Library presents Adam Lindquist as Theodore Roosevelt at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10 at the Cambridge Public Library.
Lindquist, of Lonsdale, Minnesota, is a living history speaker and educator who is nationally known for his work in portraying the 26th president of the United States. His uncanny resemblance and ability to bring Roosevelt to life earned him national reenactment titles in 2011, 2012 and 2013. In fact, he is the only person to ever receive a perfect score in the competition’s 40-year history.
East Central Regional Library is closing its 2018 Summer Reading Program – Reading Takes You Everywhere — with a presentation by The Raptor Center. In this free, family-friendly program, learn all about the raptors of Minnesota. Live raptors will be on hand during the presentation.
Free tickets are required at all locations for this final event of the 2018 Summer Reading Program. Space is limited due to fire code restrictions. Stop by your local library branch starting Tuesday, July 24, to pick up your free tickets.

Teens who would like to customize a skateboard with their own design can get stoked about upcoming skateboard art workshops presented by East Central Regional Library.
Mark Rivard will lead the workshops where participants will hear his inspirational story of becoming a professional artist, learn his artistic techniques and create an original work of art on an actual skateboard deck using Sharpie markers. At the end of workshop, participants can take their customized board deck and Sharpies home. (Wheels and hardware not included.)

Belinda Jensen is coming to the Cambridge Public Library at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 12. The chief meteorologist for KARE 11 News enjoys sharing her passion and enthusiasm for weather-related topics through presentations that show school age students the science behind weather. She also helps kids understand the mystery of weather with her series of children’s books featuring the character “Bel the Weather Girl,” who is already fascinated with the weather as an 8-year-old.
This program is recommended for ages 7 and up along with their families. Sponsored by East Central Regional Library and funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
