Movin’ & Groovin’ with the Bunny Clogs

Ready to have some fun on a hot summer day?  Adam Levy and his two daughters take pop music and make it kid-friendly.  Join us on Monday, July 24 at the Cambridge Public Library at 10:30 am and at the Chisago Lakes Area Library at 2:00 pm.  Hear such songs as Potatoes with Problems and 3 Dogs and a Pancake from this musical family group.  It’s family friendly entertainment for the whole family.

The Art of Henna Tattoos

Teens are invited to learn about henna tattoos including a demonstration on how to mix henna and some basic designs during a special presentation at the Chisago Lakes Area Library.

Instructor Kristin Johnson will present her henna tattoo workshop at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 18. If time allows, she will demonstrate henna tattoo on participants. Those under age 18 can volunteer for this opportunity only if they have a signed permission form.

The workshop is for ages 12-17. Pre-register by stopping by the library at 11754 302nd St., Chisago City, or calling 651-257-2817 and asking for the Chisago Lakes Library. Class size is limited.  This program is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

 

Embroider with Porcupine Quills

Join us at the Chisago Lakes Area Library on Tuesday, June 27 at 2:00 pm for a program led by the Audubon Center of the North Woods.  Students will meet a live porcupine while learning about the animal’s natural history. Students will create a quilled design on a birch bark medallion to take home after observing a demonstration of quill embroidery technique.

For ages 12-17. Pre-register (required) at the library or call 651-257-2817 and ask for the Chisago Lakes branch.  Class size limited! Workshop materials provided.

Chisago Lakes Author Series Concludes with Erin Hart and Paddy O’Brien

The Chisago Author Series concludes on Tuesday, March 14 at 6:30 pm with a visit from Erin Hart and Paddy O’Brien.

Erin Hart will be discussing The Book of Killowen, the fourth in an acclaimed suspense series, and Paddy O’Brien sharing his many adventures in The Road from Castlebarnagh: Growing Up in Irish Music, a Memoir. Join us for this final event in the author series.

Author Series Continues in Chisago Lakes

The Chisago Author Series continues on Tuesday, February 28 at 6:30 pm with Joel Karsten and the story behind his book, Straw Bale Gardens Complete. Mr. Karsten will provide information about how to use straw bales as planting containers for vegetable gardening.

The Series concludes with Erin Hart discussing The Book of Killowen, the fourth in an acclaimed suspense series, and Paddy O’Brien sharing his many adventures in The Road from Castlebarnagh: Growing Up in Irish Music, a Memoir on March 14 at 6:30 pm.
