Brian Freeman (bfreemanbooks.com), an internationally bestselling thriller author, kicks off the author series by discussing Goodbye to the Dead, the seventh installment in the Jonathan Stride series. A brutal murder outside a bar in Duluth, Minnesota, and how it relates to detective Jon Stride’s past reflects just part of the intrigue in this novel. Mr. Freeman will be at the Chisago Lakes Area Library on Tuesday, January 31 at 6:30 pm.
The series continues with appearances by Joel Karsten on Tuesday, Feb. 28, and Erin Hart and Paddy O’Brien on Tuesday, March 14. All events start at 6:30 p.m.

Learn about WWII through the eyes of a war correspondent at the Wyoming Area Library on Tuesday, December 6 at 6:30 pm. Arn portrays an Ernie Pyle-type news reporter who is embedded with an infantry company in war-torn France during the Allied Offensive to liberate Europe. From this unique perspective, participants see the war as current events rather than history. The event is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
